TONIC!
2007 was an incredible year here at GreenDimes, thanks to our members telling their friends and spreading the word. National coverage on The Ellen Show, NY Times, CNN, Fox News and a slew of other media outlets didn't hurt, either!
Your support allowed up to save/ plant over 700,000 trees, stop millions of catalogs and eliminate over 3.5 million pounds of junk mail. So, thank you.
We wanted to tell you about our latest project, TONIC. The definition (anything invigorating- mentally, morally or physically) itself embodies the spirit of what we are trying to accomplish. The concept is to retail merchandise that looks great, feels great and helps out a very specific cause. Our first run of limited-edition tees has been met with great enthusiasm... so please get yours before they're gone!
Made out of bamboo and organic cotton, these designer tees are soft and durable. A full 40% of our revenue goes directly to support great causes.
Check it out: www.tonicgen.com!
Thanks!
Sanjiv so kindly reminded me that the picture should be one of our beautiful models, not the logo. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!

I was checking out the Tonic website today and you have hardly sold any shirts at all over the holiday season which would seem to be a busy time for people to buy gifts that keep on giving. Also your blog has not been updated for weeks. Are you all still in business? Or was this a opps, this idea sucks and we need to get back to the drawing board. Keep the few of us interested updated will yah? Was this just something done out of a garage and for fun? You can't really make enough money to be sustainable can you?

GreenDimes here,
We would be happy selling 4 T's. It would mean that 3 bed nets would be distributed to prevent malaria, 3 children in India would be educated for one year, 25 trees would be planted in environmentally sensitive areas, and one person in a developing nation would get clean drinking water.
Now multiply those numbers by a 1000, and that's the impact our Tonic members have had so far. Not bad for a startup with a new business model.
Btw, we're getting a new content editor soon, so look forward to a brand new blog and more community involvement.
Thanks, we appreciate your feedback.

I bought a beautiful "Help India" T. It is the most expensive T I own - but for a good cause. I was very sad to see that it was made in China, however....
